12 wks

The most dramatic development this week: reflexes. Baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his/her toes will curl, eye muscles will clench, and mouth will make sucking movements. (The book also says that if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it.) His/her intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and the kidneys will begin excreting urine into the bladder. Nerve cells are multiplying rapidly, and in baby's brain, synapses are forming furiously. His/her face looks unquestionably human: His/her eyes have moved from the sides to the front of his head, and his ears are right where they should be. From crown to rump, my baby-to-be is just over 2 inches long (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce.
Me this week...
I'm so excited that we are soon closing the first trimester and we go to the doctor on MONDAY!!!! My uterus is now in the lower part of my stomach which should slow down the potty breaks for a while. Still looking plump instead of pregnant however when I woke up Saturday morning I could tell a difference. Someone told me that it may seem to happen overnight and I believe it did! My clothes are still a little uncomfortable but I've only worn one pair of maternity pants...and I was pulling on them all day!!

Picture Update :)

And, these are pictures that we took right after we found out about Baby E...
although she has no clue what it is she is REALLY excited!

Monday, monday

I have a good bit of pics to show you guys but for whatever reason they aren't cooperating with blogger...I'll try again later!

Well we had a pretty busy weekend. On Friday Tara, a friend of mine's father passed away after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. It's been quite a struggle these past few months and now he is no longer suffering. I can't imagine what she is going through but know that she is just relieved for him to be pain free. I spent some time with them Friday and Saturday evenings. And even though it was such a sad occasion it was great to catch up with all the girls.
After my visit with them on Friday we headed to meet a friend of ours that was in town from Texas.
Saturday BJ headed out for his golf tournament early and I attempted to sleep in. Wasn't very successful with that so I messed around the house and headed to Turner and Payton's soccer games for a bit then met Ashley for our day date. We had a great time and spent wayyy too much. (And we got to meet Sarah for Olive Garden!) I got some make up, brushes (they were buy one get one free, I couldn't pass that up) and a new OPI color which I can't remember the name but it's really cute :) from Ulta, BJ a Guy Harvey tshirt for his Easter basket(okay I bought myself one too) and a new purse from Handpicked(wish I could find it for you to see but it's not on the website but it's yellow and pretty cute..even if I didn't want to pay that much). I also bought BJ this cute onesie for Easter from peanut. AHHH the things I have been buying lately...I need to be saving for peanut! We also went to Baby's Furniture Plus and I picked out the crib that I want....it's just the sweetest most perfect crib for my precious baby, don't you agree?? (in the expresso) I sure hope hubs agrees. I can't wait to take him to see it. I think then it will be more "real" to him.
Sunday we went to church, lunch with my parents, took Rox for a trip to my bro's (the weather was great when we left and the boys LOVED her coming to visit..the cows not so much), napped, went back to church for the Easter Cantata..(Jesus is Alive and Well..I've had this song in my head all day).
PHEW what a weekend but we love it =)

And the gener predictor test says......

I took the GP test this morning and the results say.......IT'S A BOY!!!!! Now to find out if it is correct in 8 weeks!!! I can't stinkin' wait!!! Davis it will be :)
Of course BJ thought this test was the silliest thing ever but he was excited when it was green.
Well we've had plans 3 times so far for this weekend but I'm satisfied with the final plans! Tonight BJ and I are going to take it easy and watch The Blindside. I've seen it and absolutely LOVED it! Tomorrow he's playing in a golf tournament and I'm going to look at baby furniture and shop with Ashley H. She is always such a good date. She lets me pick where we eat, takes me to get ice cream and shopping. What more could a girl ask for?!?!
Also I have some pictures from our visit with Nicole and the kids from Wed. and I'll post them soon, promise :)

knee-cole

It's days like today when I'm so jealous of all the people who get to enjoy this weather! It's a gorgeous day. I can't wait to get off. My bff, Nicole, is coming to see me tonight!!! I'm so excited. It's been since January since I saw her and the kiddos. When I lived in Aiken I saw her just about everyday. We got so close. We still talk everyday but it really sucks not getting to see her more often. Her kids are absolutely precious and I miss them like crazy!!! They are like another niece and nephew to me. I wish I could be more active in their lives. I know miss priss doesn't even remember me but Dawson on the other hand always tells me he misses me...he's such a sweetheart! Here is a picture from last summer... and this is her and my crazy hubs...
I know I've said it a million times but I am so lucky to have such wonderful people in my life, God is so good to me :)
Oh yeah, I went to Rite Aid last night to get the gender test and they didn't have it. I'm going to try Walgreen's today! BJ says I just need to wait until May when the dr tells me so that I "know" and not to go buy this silly test. Sorry charlie, I'm buying it!

Prayer Request

A friend of mine, who I worked with in Aiken, had twins last week...Lilly and Logan. Logan passed away yesterday.
After trying to have a baby for over a year, they got pregnant with twins. She has had a difficult pregnancy. Last Monday her blood pressure was high and they had to deliver. I'm still not sure what exactly happened but please keep them in your prayers. I cannot imagine what she is going through right now. Also, please keep Lilly in your prayers as well for a speedy recovery so that she can be home.

11 wks

Baby E is now the size of a thumb or the fruit comparison this week is a fig. He/she can swallow and kick and is getting fingernails :) (I can't wait to paint em if it's a girl!!!) His/her head is so big it takes up half of its body and the spine is visible. His/Her hands will soon open and close into fists, tiny tooth buds are beginning to appear under baby's gums, and some of her bones are beginning to harden. She's already busy kicking and stretching, and tiny movements are so effortless they look like water ballet. These movements will become more frequent as his/her body grows and becomes more developed and functional. However, I won't feel baby's acrobatics for another month or two (I CAN'T WAIT!!!)
As for me this week, it says I should start getting some of my energy back WOO HOO! I'm having to wear the bella band with some of my pants now. It just makes them more comfortable.

Ouch

The weather was great Saturday but I'm definitely feeling it yesterday and today. I have quite the humorous farmer's tan! We had a lot of fun but it really isn't as much fun being the only sober person there. It was great seeing everyone and catching up. Everyone seemed to be super excited about "peanut". I'll be sure to post some pictures when I get some from other people (I know I've gotten terrible about taking pictures and I'll def have to get better before the baby comes). After the trials we headed home and ate supper (steak and baked pot...yummy)with my parents and Paul Nathan and Kelley. After that big meal and being in the sun all day, we were in bed and asleep by 10 :)
Yesterday we went to church and had lunch at mom and dad's then napped and did laundry all day.
Oh yeah...I didn't take the gender test but I'm going to I promise! This weekend was just a tad busy.
We are supposed to be going to the Cup this weekend but not sure that's going to happen now. Plus, the weather isn't looking too great for Sat right now. Maybe I'll do some baby furniture looking :)

Giddy Up

It's that time again!! Spring begins with two weekends of back to back horse races! This weekend we have the Elloree Trials and next weekend we have the Cup.
The Elloree Trials is basically a redneck horse race. Tons of fun. You can wear what you want, act how you want and nobody cares (except for you hubs..yikes). For this function all of our hometown friends come home. We always have ridiculous amounts of alcohol and crazy stuff...mini kegs, the biggest bottle of liquor you can find..WHATEVER you want. It is the best time. You bet on horses, get wasted and make the best memories. Although this will be my FIRST sober horse race, I know that I am still destined to have a great time. People watching at this function is at it's finest. Seriously, there is no telling what you'll see. I've def had my fair share of shameful trial moments. My very first year I went I puked inside a restaurant afterwords sitting at the table. Like I said not my best moments but still so much fun. This year I will be the DD. (There is a first time for everything) And we don't get fancy with the food and table here. Pigs in a blanket, Doritos, anything that can be bought from the gas station on the way (we always stop at this one station that has chicken)..all set out on a cardboard table with no table cloth or center piece. You don't have to worry about plates, napkins, etc. The most laid back event.
Now next weekend is a whole different story. All the girls in their Lilly dresses, guys in shirt and tie. A nice set up under a tent with matching everything. I even bring out my good serving stuff and vases with pretty flowers for the center piece. AHH we have a great time at cup too. (Although you don't really watch the race here.)
But this weekend....the weather is supposed to be AWESOME...76! I CAN'T WAIT to get some color on this skin of mine! Hope everyone has a great weekend and I'll be sure to let you know about some of the crazy stuff I see on Monday. I'll leave you with a few pics from past Elloree Trials...

Top 10 Things They Should Really Warn You About

WHOA NELLY!!!
I hope everyone had a great St. Patty's Day! Ours was pretty uneventful..nice!

So, I got this email today from theBump and goodness....I def should have been warned :) (some of this may be TMI-sorry)
Here it is, the top 10 things they should have warned you about...
#1. You might grow a beard.
Look my hair grows at abnormal rates as it is, I don't need these vitamins jump starting them even more!! I already have to get my lip and eyebrows waxed every 4 weeks as it is...please don't speed it up anymore.
#2. Taking a good poop could feel like a distant memory.
I also had enough "bathroom" issues before pregnancy...no need to add to it! My SIL and BFF tried to warn me about these issues...they def weren't kidding!
#3. You’ll have insane gas you can’t even blame on the dog.
BAHAHAHAHA-we'll just leave that one alone :)
#4: Two words: Uncontrollable drooling. (at night)
Haven't had this issue yet-that I'm aware of. Guess it may be coming.
#5. You’ll burp like a frat boy.
Haven't really noticed a change in my burpage either.
#6. Grooming your lady bits could become the bane of your existence.
Yowzers! Wax please?
#7: There will be discharge. And lots of it.
Ewww
#8. The term “lightening crotch” will become a painful reality.
Not sure I know what this is but I can imagine and maybe I'll pass on this one too??
#9. Kindergarten wasn’t the last time you’ll pee your pants in public.
That sounds embarrassing...
#10. Your vag will actually grow. (Yes, grow.)
whoaaaa

On the bright side, even all of this negativity doesn't damper my excitement! I cannot wait to hold my sweet baby.
Oh and I'm thinking about taking this gender test this weekend to see what the baby is....hey it has an 80% accuracy rating!

10 wks

Baby E is striding through week 10 :)
This week baby E is the size of a prune or a kumquat, a little over an inch long and weighs .14 oz. (Geez that's tiny) Baby has now completed the most critical portion of his/her development. This is the beginning of the so-called fetal period, a time when the tissues and organs in his body rapidly grow and mature. She/He's swallowing fluid and kicking up a storm. Vital organs — including his kidneys, intestines, brain, and liver are in place and starting to function, though they'll continue to develop throughout the pregnancy. Tiny nails are forming on fingers and toes (no more webbing) and peach-fuzz hair beginning to grow on tender skin. Also, baby's limbs can bend now. In the next couple weeks baby E will double in size...yowzers

Changes in me this week...I still don't look preggers just look like I've gained a few lbs. My uterus is the size of a grapefruit and my "mid-section" is rather plump...more so than normal :) I'm still wearing my normal clothes but having to wear the bella band with some of my dress pants. I've been trying to walk a couple times a week. (Roxie enjoys it) I'm the sickness is over!!! If so, it wasn't near as bad as I had anticipated...I can say that now. ha Some days I think I can tell but my book says that is just b/c I need to go to the bathroom. bahaha Lastly the big thing these next few weeks are the zits on my face...WHOA NELLY..my hormones need to get under control so these can go away! And, still patiently awaiting my voluptuous boobies :)

Creamy Chicken & Rice

8 boneless chicken tenders
1 package of Lipton Creamy Chicken rice sides
2 cups of hot water
1 can cream of chicken
1 can cream of mushroom
1 cup sour cream
a little salt

Spray 13x9 dish, poor in rice mix and water, add salt, place chicken on top, mix soups and sour cream and poor over chicken, cover and bake at 350 for 30 mins.
It's super easy and pretty yummy. Plus you know I love a casserole :)

Spring Fever

I'm pretty sure that I have Spring Fever :)
We had a great weekend with good weather for the most part.
Friday night we went out to eat with mom and dad then went home and watched The Time Traveler's Wife...which was def not my type of movie.
Saturday we woke up at the crack of dawn for no reason (prob b/c we went to bed early the night before) and started some spring cleaning. Tried getting rid of some junk and BJ washed my car. How sweet..ha Then I headed to Cola to do some shopping with Ashley. Let me tell ya...you always see these cute pregnant women dressed so cute...I need to find out where they are shopping b/c I didn't see hardly anything "cute"! I did get a little cotton dress (but in green) and some jeans (that BJ thinks are hilarious..thanks babe).
Sunday we went to church, had lunch with my mom, took Roxie for a ride, went for a walk, grocery shopped, visited Gma... I cooked Mexican Chili for supper and mom stopped by on her way home from shopping. She brought me lots of surprises :) I got a bunch of shirts and two pairs of pants. Most of them were normal clothes just a little bigger. I should be good to go for a few weeks. She also brought me some flowers for my baskets on the porch but left BJ with strict instructions that I'm not allowed to touch them (b/c they'll die)!
That's about it tomorrow I'll do the baby update (10 wks)!!!

One year

I can't believe it's already been a year at my job. It has flown by! Guess now isn't the time to ask for a big raise with the bomb I dropped on him last week..yikes.
Of course I've really enjoyed working here and I've learned so much but I really miss my work buddies in Aiken. I don't have anybody to cut up with here.

This weekend Ashley and I are going to attempt to see Dear John once again. I really hope we get to see it this time. And some shopping and good food would be nice too :) I love our little dates. Of course BJ likes when I go on dates with her too b/c then he doesn't have to shop and see chick flicks.
Other than that I'm hoping on doing a lot of sleeping and cleaning my house. It has def been neglected these past couple weeks. (I've just been exhausted when I get home.) A bunch of our friends are celebrating St. Patty's day on Sat at 5pts in Cola. More power to them. Don't think that would be too much fun for me this year. Plus we have two crazy weekends coming up with back to back horse races. You know what that means. Everybody is already calling dibbs on me to drive them...how nice, right?
Have a great weekend :)

Thankful Thursday

I have so many things to be thankful for at this time in my life. I am forever grateful. I truly have an amazing husband, awesome family and fabulous friends.
Yesterday I was feeling a little blah and had some time to kill before meeting Lizzie for dinner (which was great) so I went to my cousins house. I called earlier and told them I was coming. When I got there they had a pillow and blanket on the couch for me to rest! They are really just sooo good to me. (just the little things they do)I knew that when I started working in Orangeburg that I would get to see them a lot more. I have lunch with them (most of the time it's just Lisa and the girls) at least once a week. They always pamper me and are just so sweet. I really am glad that my cousin was able to marry such a wonderful person. She's an amazing mom to two beautiful twin girls, a great wife (from what I see anyways :) haha I know you're reading this Lisa) and a wonderful friend to me. We've gotten so close over the past year and I don't know what I would do without her. (Don't mean to toot your horn Lisa)

Thursdays are always my favorite day at work. Our cleaning lady (who is 82!!!) comes every Thursday. She always seems to brighten my day. She always brings me something (that's not what I love about her though) whether it's breakfast or a snack, all sorts of things. Today she brought me flowers that she cut out of her yard. She's always telling me new recipes. Not new to her of course but new to me. I try to do special things for her as well. Some "different" things that I cook or fresh vegetables or fruit in the summer, or even simply buy her lunch when I'm taking her home. She always tells me how beautiful I am and how much she loves me. She is just so full of life. I hope that when I'm 82 that I can still get around like her!
I thank God everyday for these people and blessings everyday.
What are you thankful for?

Yawnnnn

Goodness I'm tired. I hit the snooze button multiple times this morning! I just feel exhausted all day everyday. They say that I will get my second wind in a few weeks. Bring it on :)
Boobies....everything I read says I should be seeing some big changes if you get my drift....well where are they?!?!? I mean no change here...yet.
I saw Carmen (a friend who is two weeks ahead of me) last night. WHOA nelly. She def has a bump. She said she can't wear hardly any of her normal clothes. Hubs was totally shocked. He said I mean are you going to be like that in two weeks...haha We shall see lover boy.
Tonight I'm planning to meet Lizzie for dinner. We decided last month that we were going to do this once a month.
Happy Hump Day :)

Baby E at 9 weeks

Almost half way through week 9! The sickness has somewhat subsided...YAY!!
This week Baby E is the size of a grape, weighing just a fraction of an ounce. He/she is finally starting to look more like a human and the tale is GONE! (I was pretty pumped about that part haha) His/her heart finishes dividing into the four chambers and the valves are starting to form as well as his/her teeth. Baby's organs, muscles, and nerves are kicking into gear. The external sex organs are there but won't be distinguishable as male or female for another few weeks. (WE CAN'T HARDLY WAIT!!!) His/Her eyes are fully formed, but his/her eyelids are fused shut and won't open until 27 weeks. He/She has tiny earlobes, and his/her mouth, nose, and nostrils are more distinct. Next week is a big week for Baby E....but I'll tell you about all that next week :)
Still working on baby daddy with the potential names. He doesn't want to commit until we know the sex....he's killing me. He really thinks he has some say-so...haha Right now he says the baby's name is peanut. How cute, right?? He really is excited :)
BTW...ritz crackers and peanut butter are pretty dang yummy...lard butt
Happy Tuesday!

Monday, March 8, 2010

Phew, what a weekend!

Well the news is definitely out there. We've had some of the most random phone calls ever asking about it. People really have no shame when it comes to some of the things they say. BJ said it's just my hormones...
We broke the news to all of the nieces and nephews. Everyone is excited except for Cole. (I'm sure he doesn't quite understand.) Of course all of them want it to be a girl except Hunter. He said he's tired of being the only boy.
Our weekend was pretty good. The weather finally warmed up and we enjoyed it both Saturday and Sunday.
Friday night Ashley and I drove an hour to see Dear John only to be told that it was canceled. It was posted online, on their sign and on their recording of movies...I guess they forgot to let everyone know. We were not happy but settled for Target instead :)
Saturday we got up early, had breakfast and headed to the soccer games. I'm sad to say that I'm not even sure who won either game b/c we were talking to people the entire time. We took Hunter and Kalyn home with us for a little while to play with foxie Roxie. Of course she was worn slap out when they left. That afternoon we headed to an ol redneck mud bog...HAHA It wasn't too bad :)
Sunday we headed to Cola for the day. We picked up Kemp and Erin, grabbed lunch and headed to see the Gamecocks play. It was a horrible game but we still managed to have a great time.
Hope all of you had a great weekend as well :)

Almost forgot!!

I was trying to upload our picture of Roxie's little brother or sister but it doesn't seem to be working. SORRY

Finally, I can tell!

Okay so now that people are starting to find out.....WE ARE HAVING A BABY!!!! Baby E is due October 7th. It's going to be one hott summer but I can't wait!
This past summer hubs and I decided that we were ready to stop taking the pills. What an exciting day that was. It feels wonderful to not have to rely on that tiny pill every month (sorry if that's TMI). We decided that we were just going to "let it happen"...newsflash...it doesn't really happen like that all the time. The first few months went by with all of the weddings and parties that we had going on. Which of course made people talk...esp my mother...how come you don't want a beer??? I wish I had a dollar for every time someone asked me why I wasn't drinking for the past 8 months. Baby E would be RICH! ha Anyways, after months of waiting for it to "happen" we decided that we were going to stop worrying about it and put it in God's hands. We knew that he would give us a baby when he thought we were ready.
Discovering two lines :)
On January 29th after being a week late I decided to take yet another test (I took so many tests over those 7 mths it was crazy) and once again it was negative..only one line. That week was very hard. Everywhere I went I saw someone pregnant or with a baby and I was so jealous. Person after person asked "when are yall going to have a baby..." You see, I used to be that person. I used to always asked couples when they were going to have a baby or why were they taking so long...etc...NEVER again. It's just not fun being on the other side. Of course I never meant to be rude when I asked those questions. Anyways, that next weekend was our big trip to the mountains. We were busy rushing around getting ready for our trip. Wednesday, February 3rd, I decided that since I still hadn't started I should probably take another test. (As crazy as it sounds I just wanted to be able to relax on our trip with all of the stress of "trying"..if I wanted to have a glass of wine I wanted to be able to and not worry about what if.) Well a very faint line came up almost immediately! Keep in mind this was about 11 and BJ had long been asleep. I didn't want to get too excited yet so I went on to bed. After very little sleep I got up with BJ at 3:45 (still not telling him) and took another test. It came up immediately. He was getting ready for work and I walked up to him with the test and he just looked at me. He said "Are you positive?" Of course I told him about the test the night before. Well that was not enough for Mr. Ehrhardt. We ended up taking 5 tests!!!! I called and scheduled my first appointment and we decided not to tell a soul! On February 17th I went in for my blood work for them to confirm that I was indeed expecting. That night we decided to tell our parents and siblings. Words cannot express how excited everyone was. We swore them to secrecy until our next appointment.
Today, March 5, 2010, a day that will always be special to me we got to see our baby! It was amazing. You know that it is going to be exciting but you really can't prepare yourself for that moment. Of course when the dr walked out BJ was fighting me over the two pics. He was too cute.
So of course the calls have started and the word is spreading like a wildfire. We are very excited to tell our nieces and nephews this weekend. Especially excited to see what the younger ones have to say back.
Needless to say this weekend is going to be a great one :)

Hump Day

Is it just me or is this week DRAGGING?!?!? Goodness..
So it's been a little crazy around work, we have been getting ready for a big trial and I haven't had much down time..lol So where should we begin...
The Bachelor..
Jake, Jake, Jake....what a douche bag. I'm not a big fan of your anymore. (I know you're devastated b/c my opinion does matter ha) I felt a little mislead during the show. Everything went so great with Tinley. The family loved her and she just seemed like she "fit". I just knew at the after show him and Vienna sausages would no longer be together...little did I know. I'm excited to see Ali on the Bachelorette. Who didn't know that was coming??
Dancing With the Stars
Okay, my husband doesn't normally watch DWTS but I'm sure he will now that ERIN ANDREWS is going to be on it. What guy doesn't LOVE her. Hell I'm pretty fond of her myself. Now, Kate...don't you think you should be taking care of your 8 kids instead of dancing with half naked, spray tanned hotties?? And, Pamela...that will be one to watch. And, Jake, you're going to suck, that's my guess. Is Melissa going to be one of the hosts this year?? I really like her.
American Idol
It has always been a fav of my dad, Paul Nathan and I. We always call each other during all of the episodes...Paul Nathan and I esp during the auditions...I'll pick out the dorkiest/worse guy and tell him that I tried to tell him he should go on national tv :) It's fun..but anyways...We are all very disappointed this season. I just can't get into it. AND, Ellen has always been on my awesome list....she is just so funny. When I was on part-time for that short amount of time, my mornings were scheduled around her show...like I was saying..I thought she would be different on AI. Maybe she'll bring out her crazy side once it gets to the top 10??
Tonight...MODERN FAMILY!!!!
The funniest show ever!! It looks like it is going to be great tonight. I can't wait :)

Monday, March 1, 2010

Another week :)

What a great weekend!
Friday night we went to supper with Paul, Kelley and mom then I headed to Ashley's to meet Miss Miley, her new puppy. (Who is absolutely precious!)
Saturday BJ had to work and I headed out to the soccer games with the family. Afterwords we headed to mom and dad's for pizza on the patio. I had to do some running around getting ready for the bday dinner that night. When BJ got home we went to Payton's basketball game for the first half then headed back to mom and dad's to start prepping and cooking. Everything turned out great and was pretty yummy.
Sunday we went to church then the whole family went to Duke's for lunch before P&K headed home. I lounged/napped for a few hours and then we went for an afternoon walk.
What a relaxing weekend!
Tonight....who is Jake going to pick?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
