Busy, busy!

These next few days are going to be crazy busy!
Tonight we have our niece, Jordan's first playoff softball game. We are so proud of her. They moved her up from JV (she's in the 8th grade) at the end of the season and now she STARTS.
Tomorrow we both have work and then we'll be running around trying to get last minute things done (golf carts, stuff for the silent auction, etc.) to help out for the golf tournament on Saturday. Plus, I should probably hit some range balls at some point seeing that I haven't played since last year's tourney. haha Our team, Aunt Donna, Leslie (cousin), Mindy (sil) and myself won last year. Our team year before last, which was the same people minus Mindy plus Lizzie, won that year too. This is the 3rd annual CRH tourney (in memory of our friend Chris). Maybe we'll be taking home the trophy this year too...if we don't, I'm blaming it on me not being able to drink. I've never played w/o Bud Light so we shall see how this year goes with water and a bump :) Of course it will be a great time though. This is a pic that Turner took of me and Mindy last year...he was so excited that we won. And YES our team wore matching outfits lol
THEN after the tournament Ashley and I will be heading home to get ready and off we go to see CARRIE UNDERWOOD!!!!!!!!!! YAY, I'm SO excited about that too :)
Sunday I will be resting b/c I'm sure I'll be worn out and I'm sure I want be able to sleep knowing that we will find out Monday morning if Baby E is a BOY or GIRL!!! AHHHH I can't hardly wait!!!!

16 weeks

Right now, he or she is about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces (still small enough to fit in the palm of your hand). His/her legs are much more developed, head is more erect than it has been, and eyes have moved closer to the front of the head. His/her ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his/her locks aren't recognizable yet. He/she has even started growing toenails. His/her transparent skin is tinged pink as it adds layers, and he/she can kick its tiny feet and make grasping motions with his/her hands. His/her eyes are becoming increasingly sensitive to light. By now, all of your baby's muscles and bones are in place, and his nervous system is starting to exert control. Your baby is attached to the placenta by his lifeline, the umbilical cord, and that's growing thicker and stronger as his needs increase. Blood is constantly pulsing through the cord, bringing nutrients to your baby and helping to remove toxins from the amniotic fluid, which fills his trachea each time he opens his mouth. The placenta has grown too, in order to accommodate the thousands of blood vessels that are working hard to exchange nutrients and oxygen between your body and your baby's. Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. Watch what you say... tiny bones forming in baby's ears mean the little one can now pick up your voice.
My changes...the belly is def here. BJ was in awe last night and asked me if I was poking my belly out...ugh no hun I believe it's here. Then he said "I mean it looks totally different than yesterday" too funny. I've gotten some energy back..woo hoo just in time for my bff Carrie Underwood (I'm going to see her Saturday night). I'm still patiently awaiting the "flutter". I thought I felt it last week but not sure. Of course BJ said it was prob just gas..thanks hun. Today when I read the weekly update I actually got a little emotional (what's new these days). It seems more and more "real" everyday. The part that got me was that the baby can potentially hear MY voice...that is so scary. I def need to watch my road rage, my temper and my language. I've really been trying to work on it for months but that just hit me today. Maybe I'll have another picture sometime this week :) OH and less than 6 days until we find out if baby E is a boy or girl...but who's counting..HA

Going to be a long week...

Yesterday morning we got one of those rough calls. My grandma's brother passed away. It was pretty shocking but she's doing as good as expected. It comes and goes. She made the comment yesterday that she was just learning to deal without my Papa (who died almost 7 mths ago) and that it was going to start over. We have visitation tonight and the funeral tomorrow.
Tomorrow is a rough day in itself. It's two years since we lost a really good friend.
Not a day goes by that I don't think of him. It can be the most random things that trigger it. He was such a happy person and always made everyone around laugh. We have the 3rd annual Chris Hindman Scholarship Golf Tournament this weekend. We've been working on getting it ready for a few weeks now. It's always a good time and a great way to remember someone so special to us. Of course we would much rather him be here than have this tournament but God had other plans.
If it weren't for him, who knows where I would be today. He's the one that pretty much brought BJ and I together. They were roommates at the time and I had been spending a good bit of time with Chris (he was my brother's best friend and this was when PN was in Iraq so we bonded a lot during that time...he had to be the "older brother") and then what do ya know...almost 8 years later...married with a baby on the way.

We made it to the weekend!

BJ and I will be spending the afternoon/evening with these two adorable little boys :) Couldn't you just eat them up?!?! AHH they always brighten my day!
Tomorrow hubs is working a little OT (whoop-whoop) and then we are going baby furniture shopping, out to eat and mayyyyybe to see I can't wait. It looks so cute! (I know I've become quite the movie hog lately.) Anyways, hopefully I'll have a review for you on Monday. Have a fabulous weekend :)

In less than 2 months!!

In less than two months we will be on VACATION!!!! WOO-HOO I can't wait. We are headed to see the big city lights..... You got it! We're headed to New York City for Davis Family Vacay! We're going to do all of the touristy things along with a Yankees game, a Broadway show and who knows what else. My dad and I are the only ones in the group that have been before so I'm excited to see everyone's reactions. Especially Turner's. A few months back he told Duke that he wanted to see the Statue of Liberty so that's where we are headed for vacation. (Maybe next year he should tell him he wants to see some really blue water ;) haha) We're staying in a really cute condo/townhouse/whatever you want to call it. I think that will be work out perfectly for our family and we won't have to stay separately in a hotel. I'm anxious to see how Turner and Cole do on the plane as well. And don't worry, I've already cleared it with my doctor. She said as long as I stay hydrated and don't "over do it" I'll be fine. Now onto picking a show for us girls to see and mapping out our trip! We want to get as much in as possible but most importantly enjoy it. I'm so excited for a VACATION (even though we're getting a mini vacay in May to Edisto Beach).

15 wks and BIG news!!!

Okay, disregard ME in the picture, it was a long day. It's kind of hard to tell but the bump is def there!
Baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple). He/She's busy moving amniotic fluid through his/her nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in the lungs begin to develop. His/Her legs are growing longer than his/her arms now, and she can move all of her joints and limbs. Although her eyelids are still fused shut, he/she can sense light. The book says that if you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, he/she's likely to move away from the beam. There's not much for your baby to taste at this point, but he/she is forming taste buds. Also, the book says if you could see your baby right now, you'd laugh as he/she tests out her developing muscles by making lots of funny faces -- squinting, frowning, even smiling in the womb. You'd be astonished by his/her paper-thin skin, through which a network of fine blood vessels runs like a series of miniature roads. His/Her ears are nearly in position, and he/she can turn her head. He/She can make fists and point her toes too, though most of the time these movements are reflexive. His/Her hair has started to grow, and it may have a little color as the pigment cells of his/her hair follicles kick in.
The doctor said that this month I would probably see a jump in weight gain. My "bump" is definitely there now. I can only wear a couple pairs of pants of my pre-pregnancy clothes. Last week I was extremely irritable, not sure why. I'm waiting patiently for the "flutter". I thought I felt it the other night but after reading what it would feel like I don't think that was it. At my next visit they are going to take my blood and test it to see if there is anything wrong with the baby.
Drum Roll Please.......
We had been told that our next sonogram would not be until 22 weeks. We (I) of course was trying to see if there could be any strings pulled to try and find out the sex earlier. Well after sweet talking the head nurse she has pulled some strings and I will be having a sonogram at my next appt on May 3!!!! We are so excited but of course BJ (who says I'm negative) says that the baby probably won't cooperate. I'm going to tell the baby everyday for the next two weeks that if he/she cooperates Duke (my dad) will buy him/her a pony!! HAHA Wish us luck :)

Happy Birthday to two sweet boys!

Yep, it's here Turner & BJ's birthday! It is so hard for me to believe that it was six years ago when we were waiting patiently all night on the arrival of Turner Dane Davis! It was def a special day. He was the FIRST great grandchild in our family, the first grandchild, my FIRST nephew...he was amazing. He was the cutest little thing. When we found out Mindy's due date I of course said maybe he'll be born on BJ's birthday. Little did we know. He is the sweetest child(Cole is only sweet sometimes..haha), he always knows just what to say. It's amazing the things that he comes up with. We went ahead and gave him his present last night. He had told me that he wanted some June Bug worms, hooks and a new baseball bat. Well Aunt Katie went on a search for June Bug worms..how does a child know what these things are??? ( btw June Bug is just the color, you learn something new everyday)Of course he got all three things that he asked for. He's too cute to disappoint. Happy 6th Birthday to my precious nephew Turner Dane Davis!
I can remember making the phone call really early to BJ on the morning of 4/20/04. He was working a funny shift and I called to tell him Happy Birthday and to let him know that he would be sharing it forever from that point on, Turner was here. He of course loves Turner to pieces and they always say they are birthday buddies but BJ always jokes with my mom that he doesn't get to have "his" birthday anymore that he celebrates Turner's birthday on his birthday. Of course he's kidding but he likes to give her a hard time. This is the seventh birthday of BJ's that I've celebrated with him. Of course he is pretty spoiled too. Well he got his birthday present last weekend..the pistol that he wanted. I told he we would go on a date this weekend to celebrate too.
Once again, happy birthday to two very special people!

Ahhhh another wedding :)

Sarah's Wedding Rehearsal Party last year

Ahhhh!!! I am so excited to announce that Aubrey Caroline Watson is ENGAGED!!!!!!
Richard asked her last night. She has decided that she wants to do it this summer...July 31st. She asked if I would be in the wedding and of course I said yes but reminded her that I would be a cow by then :) She's going to look at dresses today so that she can get that checked off since that is the most important thing. (Her brother, Kemp, is getting married Aug. 28th and BJ is in his wedding.) Don't you just love weddings?!?
Didn't really have too much going on this weekend. BJ was off with the boys fishing. Sat morning I went to see my two little turkeys play tball...so stinkin cute! Ashley and I finally got to see The Last Song and cried like little babies, hit up Target for some more clothes (yikes, BJ may kill me) and ate dinner at Travinia's. It was really good and it was prom night in Aiken so we got to see all the high school students all dolled up! (boy oh boy has the attire changed) Yesterday BJ painted our kitchen. It's a light green color. I didn't really care for it at first but I like it now. BJ also did some painting in Baby E's room....some unplanned, unwanted painting. He spilled white paint on the carpet!!! Of course I was not happy about that.
Tonight we are headed to another t-ball game!

Such a BIG day :)

Let's see where do I begin?!?!?!
I know...I'm getting DVR as I typeee!!!! My dad is meeting the cable guy for me. I am SOOOOOOOOO excited. I can't wait to get home to set all of my shows to record. And I'm getting it just in time to record my shows tonight...REAL HOUSEWIVES OF NY! woo hoo Can ya tell how excited I am. I've been begging BJ for this for years! I mean I watch a ton of tv and I'm sick of missing stuff and having to watch something online or wait for the re-run.
NEXT
I'm going to buy BJ the pistol that he's been wanting today. When I first thought about getting it I wanted it to be a secret. (Well if you know my family you know that's impossible) I decided that I would get his input since I was spending a good bit. I didn't want to get the wrong thing and what not. Yesterday I met BJ at the gun place on our lunch and he told me it was "the one". Seriously it's like we're talking about a wedding dress or something. Anyways, I'm going back today to make that sucker mine. Well his but in my name. He asked me last night if I got it this week was I going to let him have it before his bday. Of course I said no, b/c he always tells me that, "you have to wait until Christmas day or your birthDAY", but I'm going to give him the dang thing Sat morning before he leaves for his day with the boys.
Lastly, tomorrow is Miss Julie's 83rd bday. (The cleaning lady at the office that I've grown so attached to.) I'm taking her to lunch today. She said she wants to go to Duke's, which is right up my alley :)

14 weeks

This week's big developments: baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his/her thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his/her facial muscles are getting a workout as tiny features form one expression after another. His/her kidneys are producing urine, which he/she releases into the amniotic fluid around him/her — a process he'll keep up until birth. (We actually got to see this last week during the ultrasound. The tech showed us the bladder and you could see tee tee in it!) By now baby is also starting to produce hormones on his/her own. His/her thyroid gland has matured, and her reproductive organs have accelerated their development. If baby E is a boy he is developing prostate glands by week 14, and if baby E is a girl, her ovaries have descended. Blood is forming in your baby's bone marrow, and his/her lungs are working away, preparing for that big day when he/she takes her first breath of fresh air. (We are so ready for this day)
From head to bottom, she/he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon or the size of your fist — and weighs 2 ounces. His/her body's growing faster than his head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, his/her arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of the body. (His legs still have some lengthening to do.) Baby is starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over the body-even on the head and eyelashes (maybe Baby E will get Daddy's thick eyelashes). Your baby's liver starts making bile this week — a sign that it's doing its job right — and the spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells. Though you can't feel his/her tiny punches and kicks yet, your little pugilist's hands and feet (which now measure about 1/2 inch long) are more flexible and active.(We also go to witness this in the ultrasound...hopefully I will feel him/her within the next couple weeks!)
Mommy this week...
We have finally made it to the second trimester! whoop whoop! I have gotten "sick" twice in the past week. It wasn't bad but let's hope it won't happen again. I think that by switching and taking my vitamins at night I will be much better(fingers crossed). BJ told me on Saturday morning that he could finally tell!!! He may have just told me this b/c he was getting tired of me asking him everyday..haha. I went this past weekend and got a good bit of maternity clothes to start me off. They are actually still a little big but so much more comfortable! I'm already beginning to toss and turn at night. I'm not blaming this on Baby E just yet. I've never been one to sleep on my stomach so it's not that so I'm not sure. I have to have a few pillows...and so does BJ so we're running out of room! ha
Keep on coming week 15...

Ha, Ha Tiger

Can I please just tell you how happy I am that Tiger didn't win the Masters?!? He makes me sick.
We had a good weekend! Friday night we had a date to Lowe's. How nice, right?!? We are about to start updating our kitchen and we were trying to get our thoughts together on tile and colors. We had Mexican and headed home. I watched Precious (which is extremely sad) and BJ went to bed.
Saturday we got up bright and early for BJ's softball tourney. I watched the first game (they won)and then headed shopping with Ashley. I got lots of cute stuff to last me a while and ate too much. We had Wild Wings which was excellent!! Then we headed back to watch another game (they won) then it was time for us to head home and get ready for the engagement party. It was great catching up with everyone. Once again, I thought EVERYONE knew about baby E but was mistaken.
Sunday I slept late then we headed to lunch at mom and dad's and lounged all day.
I cooked a great supper last night, beef tips, mashed potatoes and green beans!! Then it was time for Brothers & Sisters and Army Wives. I watched B&S instead of Army Wives b/c it was so good. I'll have to catch Army Wives tonight or online.
By the way, I have some BIG news....WE ARE FINALLY GETTING DVR!!!!!!!! Anybody that knows me well can imagine how excited I am about this. I mean really I don't have to wait on anymore reruns!!! I CAN'T WAIT :)

Friday!!!

Geez this week has been a crazy one but what's new these days?!?
I'm SO ready to be off work for the weekend. Tomorrow BJ is playing in a softball tournament in Lexington. Ashley's going to meet me there and we're going shoppinggggggg :) Then we have Kemp and Erin's engagement party Saturday night.
On a really Happy note..
My friend that had the twins back in the beg of March (her baby boy didn't make it)...her precious little girl is going home from the hospital!!!
Also, friends of ours that are two weeks past their due date, are getting induced next week if she doesn't have him by then.
Have a great weekend :)

Thursday, April 8, 2010

YUCK!

So guess what I did this morning?!? Threw up for the first time. I was getting ready for work applying my 10th layer of mascara when it hit me....whoa nelly!!! Never saw it coming. Of course I had just taken my vitamins 20 mins before that so they def came back up. (I know yall wanted to know..HA) So I guess I'll take them again tonight??
I've been asking my mom to make me chicken pot pie for a couple weeks now and she finally did last night. It was pretty yummy but I think I ate too much! BJ said the baby must not have liked it so much.
So I've really got spring fever, summer fever whatever you want to call it. I'm ready for the beach/lake...something! We always have really busy summers but of course we love it. Let's see what the next couple months look like...
April...this weekend we have Kemp and Erin's engagement party, the 20th is BJ and Turner's bdays..
May...we have the 3rd annual CRH golf tourney, that night we have CARRIE UNDERWOOD!!!!, the next weekend is mother's day, the next we're trying to get a beach weekend planned at Edisto, finding out the sex of BABY E!!!!, then the next is Memorial Day weekend at the lake...
June...we're having a party for Kemp and Erin at the lake, then NEW YORK!!!!
Then it's 4th of JULY!!!!!!
All this craziness will just make the time fly before the baby is here :)

April 20th is coming!!

So BJ's bday is 13 days away and I'm clueless as to what to get him! He's only told me one thing that he wants and that's a new pistol. It's pretty expensive and I'm not sure EXACTLY what he wants. I asked for a little help from PN (who just got one similar to what BJ wants) and he said I need some more specifics from him. How am I going to find this out w/o letting him know that I'm thinking about/getting it for him?!? UGHHHH decisions, decisions. On one hand I really want to get him this big gift since it probably won't be very often that I'm able to buy expensive stuff with Baby E coming and on the other hand Baby E is coming and we have $furniture$ to buy soon.
THEN, it's also Turner's bday that day too. I've asked him numerous times what he wants as well and he keeps telling me this thing that he saw on tv that I have no clue what he's talking about...WHAT WILL I DO??? Maybe I'll just take him somewhere fun for the day and let him pick something out????

13 wks

This week the baby is the size of a peach, 3 inches long and weighs nearly an ounce. (And extremely active by the looks of the sonogram) He/she is forming teeth and vocal cords. Baby is approaching normal proportions, with a head now only one third the size of the body. Intestines are in the process of moving from the umbilical cord to baby's tummy. Fingerprints have formed on baby's tiny fingertips, his/her veins and organs are clearly visible through the still-thin skin. If baby E is a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries.
Oh yeah, baby's heart rate was 152 yesterday!
Next week is the beginning of the second trimester!!!!! YAY!!! I'm slowly working my way into some maternity clothes. They are still a little big but all of my pre-preg pants that still fit are all black...I can't wear black pants everyday people!

A little scary

We had quite the scare yesterday but have been told that Baby E is perfectly healthy.
We went for our regular check-up yesterday. (btw I only gained 1lb this month! I was a little nervous) When we got there we were told that my doctor had been called over to the hospital for a delivery and that I could either see the nurse practitioner or reschedule. Of course I said I would see the NP (she told me she had 10 years experience). She was really nice and answered our grocery list of questions then proceeded to find the baby's hb with the doppler. No such luck. She then brought the ultrasound machine in to try and see the baby's heartbeat. No such luck. The screen was blank, as if there was NO baby. She tried to reassure us that she hasn't done too many ultrasounds and that it was probably just her. Of course by this time I was a basket case and BJ looked extremely nervous. She then told us that she needed us to go to Advanced Diagnostic Imaging right away. She handed me a cup of water, told me to chug it and go. When we got to ADI of course they all knew what we were there for (we knew a few of the girls) and I'm sure that they could tell that I had been crying my eyes out. They gave me another cup of water and told me to chug it (they say it's a lot easier to see the baby when you have a full bladder). At this point I'm thinking if this woman touches my belly with the ultrasound wand I'm going to pee all over myself. Of course it was all worth it!!! As soon as she laid me on the table and put the wand on me Baby E was doing cart wheels!!! She said that the doctor probably was having trouble with the doppler because the baby was so active. We got to watch him or her for a good 20 minutes busy as could be! It was definitely a relief. For whatever reason Baby E wanted to scare mom and dad to death but in the end we got another ultrasound with tons of pictures out of it!

this pollen is driving me crazy

I hope everyone had a great Easter weekend with family and friends. We sure did and got to enjoy the warm weather even though it's kicking our butts now with all this pollen. I didn't take any pics this weekend but my dad did and I'll post some later. BUSY, BUSY day! And a big day at that...we have our dr appt at 3:45!!! I'll update tomorrow :)

It's almost the WEEKEND!!!

Woo-hoo I love a four day work week-or should I say a longer weekend :)
I have tons of things that I would like to do this weekend but the main thing is enjoying this weather that God has blessed us with! I've really enjoyed driving home in the afternoons with the windows down and the radio up as well as grilling out! We grilled out Tues and Wed and it was oh so yummy.
Tomorrow hubs has to work until 1:30 and then he wants to go fishing in the river. (Maybe I can get the house cleaned while he's gone?!?) We may even take miss priss with us in the boat! (That should be an experience) It doesn't matter to me as long as I can get some SUN! That night BJ is planning on going to a boxing match that they're having in town with Paul Nathan. So maybe I'll get to go see The Last Song. It looks SO good! And I'll be sure to take the tissues!
Saturday are the last soccer games so we'll probably attend those then maybe head to my uncle's pond house for the day since PN's coming home. Maybe even get to take the two little turkey's (Turner & Cole) with us?!?
I also should probably get foxie Roxie groomed at some point too.
Sunday of course we will be celebrating EASTER!!! We'll go to church with my family and then my mom has invited BJ's family over for lunch. (I think she must be trying to start something so that she'll be guaranteed Easter with our little one...she hasn't said it but I'm sure she has something up her sleeve!)
I don't really mind what we end up doing this weekend. It's kind of nice to have no plans and go with the flow. I just want to be able to enjoy it in the nice weather with good company.
I've got BJ's Easter basket DONE. Although it's only two things, it was more $ than we normally spend.
Hope everyone has a HAPPY EASTER and don't forget why we celebrate<3
