Lasts

So last night/today I've been a little emotional thinking of some of the last things. I've had a list a mile long for the past week of things to do before we head to the hospital tomorrow. Well last night as I scratched off the last thing on the main list (I have another list for tomorrow..HA) I got a little sad...or I should say overwhelmed. I realized that tonight is our last night as just "us". B thinks I'm a tad crazy. Of course I am beyond excited about the arrival of our new bundle of joy but I think it just hit me that this chapter is closing and we are beginning a new one. anyways....
Today I accomplished a good bit...
-Took big sis to get groomed. (She was pitiful when I left her and I can't imagine what it is going to be like when I leave Davis crying for the first time.) She has been extremely attached to me today and call me crazy but I just know that she knows what is going on.
-Got to see Carmen and baby Levi for a quick visit while they were being released from the hospital
-Had lunch with Ashley
-Finished all of my thank yous
-Went through our bags one more time to make sure I'm not forgetting anything (b/c for some reason I feel like I'm forgetting something and I can't figure out what it is)and
-Started stuffing the goody bags for our visitors at the hospital.

Maybe I'll get to update while we're in the hospital but we'll see...I may be sorta busy with an adorable little fella :)
Off to catch some zzz's for my last night in my bed for a few nights...

Cleaned, organized, and READY!!!

It's been a busy yet slow weekend if that makes sense. Friday I had my last day of work for a while, ran some errands, picked out my "push" present :) and ended the day with dinner at my favorite place..just me and hubs.
Saturday hubs worked and my MIL came and helped me around the house. We scrubbed and scrubbed, organized and organized some more. Mom helped us with sprucing up the outside for fall. (I'll post a pic for yall later.) Hubs surprised me with INTERNET at home..woo hoo...I was super pumped :) We lounged and watched a few football games then headed to mom and pops for wings and some Carolina football. It was a tough game but I'm still proud to be a Gamecock.
Today I slept late and we've just been lounging and I've been catching up on thank you notes. Now we're headed for shrimp and grits with Mom, Dad and Gma. Today would have been my Papa's bday :(
I'm excited about two more season premiers tonight...Desperate Housewives and Brothers and Sisters!
Lastly, my friend Carmen had her baby boy yesterday! Baby Levi weighed in at 7lbs 5ozs. I just knew we would be in the hospital together but it doesn't look like that's going to happen.

Update

I'm so sorry that I have been so slack for the past couple weeks. With all the craziness of getting ready for Davis, being put on part time at work and no internet at home (I know we should jump into 2010...hopefully we will soon) I have had very little time to blog.
We had a great weekend and welcomed new baby cousin Eden Grace on Friday night. She is the daughter of my not so little, little cousin and they are doing fantastic. We also had our final shower. Promise to have some pics at some point.
My swelling has been somewhat better.
I had my last dr appt today and everything is set and ready to go. We have to be at the hospital next Tuesday afternoon to start the induction process.
Just wanted to do a quick update to let yall know that I'm still here and very pregnant. Hopefully I'll be able to tell yall more tomorrow :)

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 30lbs

What I miss: nothing really
Sleep: I go a few nights where I don't sleep too good then a night that I sleep really hard.

Belly Button: completely flat
Symptoms: I've been having some rough swelling issues. At my appointment yesterday Dr. C put me on part-time at work. So now I have time to actually get ready for our sweet boy :)

So close yet so far away....

So out of 4 other girls that I know that are/were expecting at the end of this month, one has delivered and 2 are scheduled to be induced this week. I can't stop thinking about him being here. He consumes my every thought....literally. Sometimes I feel a bit overwhelmed that it is so close and other times it seems like it's taking forever. Anyways, the questions of the month are "Are you ready?" and "Are you scared?" or "Can you believe it?" My answers...I'm more than ready, I'm not scared just extremely anxious (I'm sure I'll be a little nervous once "the time" actually comes.) and no I can't believe it. YIKES!! Ready or not here he comes :)
We had a good weekend. Boy was it a hot/swollen one though. My gamecock maternity shirt was a huge hit. I had so many random strangers coming up to me and telling me how much they loved my shirt and how crazy I was for being that pregnant in the heat to support our gamecock. I even had two people ask if they could take a picture of me?? random...anyways...here's one of the pics (not a very good one) that I took with my Aunt Suzie...

The boys had a large time. Cole absolutely loved seeing Cocky and had to make sure he could see him the whole game. Him holding "his cocky".. It was pretty hot so we ended up going back to our tailgate in the fourth quarter. BTW..if you haven't already heard...OUR GAMECOCKS SHOWED OUT and beat UGA :)
Sunday I had another shower that was hosted by our dear friend's family (one who passed away two years ago and his brother) they've always been like family to us and they were so sweet to give Davis an amazing shower. The people, food and gifts were all amazing...CAUTION: don't say I didn't warn you about the swolleness...be glad you can't see my pitiful feet! Hostesses with the mostesses (Chris & Shane's sisters and cousin) Some of the goodies...
Me with Chris and Shane's Mema
Me and Mrs. Donna-Chris and Shane's mom
some of the awesome desserts
showing off his gamecock jersey...we'll say that 5 is for Gilmore and not Garcia..haha
mom, gma and me...notice my mother trying to match me...and she wore that on purpose b/c she knew what I was wearing..ha

Crazy Busy

This week has been extremely busy at work..not sure if it was the four day week or the two atty's just catching up or even just the whole no a/c deal but boy oh boy am I ready for quittin' time!
Mom and Dad with the boys during our family photo session last November...of course my brothers were doing silly things behind the photographers back to try and get Cole to smile and look what she caught :)
Yesterday was my parent's 32nd wedding anniversary! And, how did they spend it?? They have the boys for the weekend (which they couldn't be more excited about) and invited hubs and I over for dinner. We all quizzed Turner for his math and spelling tests that he had today and got so tickled at some of the things he came up with, laughed hysterically at Cole, who has become quite the comedian, and had a great evening. Hubs and I were home and in the bed by 9...our kind of night :)
I was supposed to be meeting two college friends tonight for dinner about an 1 1/2 away but that has now been canceled. Courtney (one of my college roommates who is from Ohio) has been in NC for the week for vacation. She has an adorable little boy and just recently had twin girls. She is leaving to NC tomorrow morning to head back home and just decided that it would be too much to drive a total of 7 hours today with 3 little ones and then make that journey back tomorrow. It actually probably works out best for me b/c I could use a little down time at home before another busy weekend.
Tomorrow we are headed to see our Gamecocks play the Georgia bulldogs. It's an early game so say a little prayer that the heat holds off some, for my sake :) I'll be sporting my Gamecock maternity shirt proudly while hubs sips on his cold beer...ahem.
Then on Sunday we have another shower. I am oh so excited so see everyone and so blessed to have so many people welcoming Davis into this world with adorable stuff. I'll tell ya all about it Monday...and hopefully I'll have some pics too!
Have a great weekend!

LABOR day...

HAHA...tricked ya! We had a great labor day weekend and although Davis is not here, the way I have been feeling this past few days...let's just say I hope it's not like this for another month. I guess I now know what ladies are talking about when I say "It's been great" and your response is.."wait 'til the end"!! OH MY have I been feeling R~O~U~G~H!!!
Enough of the complaining...\
Friday night Ashely and I watched Dear John (we both read the book last spring and have been wanting to see it) it was okay..a little different from the book but that was to be expected. Saturday morning I watched Up in the Air...it was cute but movies like that blow my mind b/c there really are people like that!! (Guess you'll have to see it to know what I'm talking about :)) then hubs and I headed to Paul Nathan and Kelley's for the night. We had a great time just relaxing and shootin' the breeze. Sunday we came home and had supper with my parents. Monday we cleaned and got some much needed stuff done around the house AND Nicole and Miss Kayden came to visit us and see Davis' nursery :) It was so good to see them..I miss them SO much!!
Today our a/c at work kicked the bucket and I'm swelling as I type...literally...I'm not sure I'll be able to get my shoes off when I get home. And I probably smell a little too hehe.
Back to the dr tomorrow :)
Here are some pics from Kemp and Erin's wedding weekend...some handsome groomsman I paid to take a picture with me :)

Who doesn't love a long WEEKEND!!!

Congratulations to our Gamecocks!!! We pulled off a victory over Southern Miss with a final score of 41-13! Our freshmen definitely showed out a little for their first game on a college field and we are so proud to enter the rest of the season. Now onto next week, which will be the only game I attend this year, the fighting gamecocks vs. the Georgia Bulldogs. Boy oh boy am I excited, even if I am almost 9 mths preg, and it's in the middle of the day and I'm sure will be hot as balls!Ahem...next!
Who doesn't get excited about a day off from work?!?!?! WOO HOO I'm super pumped about the extended weekend and hope to get some major cleaning and organizing done around the house...nesting maybe?? Tonight Ashley is coming over and we are going to catch up on some chick flicks. Tomorrow we are going to go for an overnight trip to see my brother and his wife! And Sunday and Monday is where the cleaning, organizing and grocery shopping come in. Oh and of course watching lots of football I'm sure with it being opening weekend.
Hope everyone has a safe and happy labor day weekend :)

35 wks

Less than 30 days to go! So crazy that next month this time we will be holding our sweet boy! Davis is still the size of a honeydew melon (next week starts the watermelon month..YIKES) he weighs approx up to 5lbs 8oz and over 18 inches long. His kidneys are fully developed now, and his liver can process some waste products. Most of his basic physical development is now complete — he'll spend the next few weeks putting on weight. We start going to see Dr. C weekly now and at the next appt will be tested for Strep B. I have already pre-registered with the hospital and pediatrician so now all we need to do is pack our bags and wait on his arrival :)

It's GAMEDAY!!!

AHHH it's the day that we've been waiting for since last season....IT'S GAMEDAY for the GAMECOCKS!!!! Although, I will be unable to attend the games this season as I normally do, I'm pretty excited. As I was getting dressed this morning in my garnet and black preggo attire, I couldn't help but think that next month our lil man will be decked out on gamedays as well....even if we are sitting in our den watching it on tv ;) I cannot wait to buy him one of these...I'm trying to hold off on all things smocked until I can get a better judgment of his size since they tend to be pricey. However, when Davis finally makes his debut....watch out daddy b/c momma is going C~R~A~Z~Y!! (I'm sure I'll have a little assistance from Grandma)
So tonight we will be grilling out with Matt and Tripp and rooting for our Gamecocks! U-S-C GOOOO COCKS!!!!
Last, I had my check up with Dr. C this morning. She said we seem to be doing great and she'll see us next week! So hard to believe that he'll be here in four weeks or less!!!
