We're Still Here!

We're still alive and kickin'! It's been a crazy month chasing after an almost 1 year old.
A little taste of what our life has been like for the past month...
On August 29, 2011 we welcomed Nathan Orie Davis weighing in at 7lbs 12ozs born to some proud parents, my brother and his wife. This day was also Duke's (my dad) birthday. What a wonderful present for him.
Up next was labor day weekend and opening weekend for college football. Of course that was a great weekend.
Davis had his second double ear infection, which made him miss out on his first trip to see the gamecocks play. Of course I was devastated that he couldn't go. He agreed that it was okay for mommy and daddy to still make the trip w/o him and he stayed with grandma.
We've celebrated numerous birthdays this month, one being mine, and can't wait to celebrate his this weekend. We (I) have been planning for months for the big bash.
*Sorry for the out of order pictures. Blogger is being really, really annoying right now.

11 months

Wild Man, With only one month until the big "1" you are into EVERYTHING! We (I) am preparing daily for your big party and can't wait to celebrate YOU! It's been so much fun picking things out and I can't wait to see it all together. You went from barely taking steps to practically running around the house. Yes, I said it, you are a walking machine! You fall numerous times a day but always get right back up and keep on. You are wearing size 12 and 18 month clothes and size 4 diapers. You have 7 teeth, 4 on the top and 3 on the bottom. You normally wake up around 8, eat breakfast and have a bottle, play some more, have lunch, have a bottle, nap anywhere from 1-21/2 hours, play, snack, play, supper, play, bath, bottle, bed and wake up once during the night for a bottle. (Snuggling with your turtle)You are still eating pretty much everything we give you. You can say, Mama, DaDa, Duck, Quack (you're kind of obsessed with ducks) and every now and then you make sounds that sound like words that we say (repeating us) but won't say them again. When we say where's mama's/dada's/etcs nose you point to it but haven't conquered showing us your nose. When we look at pictures you always point to Dada and say "DaDa" or point to Roxie and get excited. (Helping Daddy give Roxie a bath)You continue to wave bye bye and love saying the blessing your favorite part is AMEN. You get really excited. We continue to read books but you are more interested in turning the pages and don't want to hear what we're reading. Your favorite toys this month were a dog collar (that is new and hasn't been used) and tupperware. There are toys all over this house yet you are most happy with these silly things. We started putting some hand-me-down nike shoes on you and first you were constantly trying to get them off...slowly you're getting used to them. I also bought you an adorable gamecock pair of squeaky shoes that I can't wait to put on you Saturday for the first football game of the season :) You have started throwing fits where you lay on the floor face down. It's quite humorous although don't tell daddy but I'm admitting that you got your temper from me...sorry charlie! (Sitting inside the cabinet helping mama) You had your first night away from mama and daddy and barely slept. The funny thing is...mama was the same way! We must have been having separation anxiety :)Davis, You continue to melt everyone's hearts. Everywhere we go people are constantly commenting on your preciousness (I mean what did they expect with a mom like yours??) and we couldn't love you more. Slow down baby, you're growing too fast!
