4 months

Holy smokes our baby is a big boy! What a month it has been.
Your stats:
You weigh 16lbs 2 ozs (are scales at home were obviously wrong) and are 25.2 inches long. (about 70th percentile for both) We always knew you would be above average ;)
You are in size 3 diapers, size 6-9 mth jammies and mostly 6 mth clothing. You are still wearing your 1 1/2 robeez. Mama and Daddy put those adorable size 2 Sperry's on you all the time but in no time you have kicked them off.
You eat 80zs every 3 1/2-4 hours and are starting cereal tonight for the first time. Your dr even told us that we could start you on stage 1 foods whenever we were ready. Slow down punkin' you're going too fast!
You have started so many new things this month. Playing with your hair when you are tired, sucking your thumb, pulling your socks off, trying to roll out of your bouncy seat and carseat. You name it, you're trying it.
You are still trying to get teeth but we still haven't felt anything.
You had your first overnight trip this weekend and you weren't a big fan of sleeping away from home. For some reason you just refused to be in the pack-n-play.
Most of the time you sleep from about 8:30-7 or so. Occasionally you wake up for a bottle around 5 and go back to sleep.
We try to read a book to you each night before bedtime and you stare at the pages like you know we are saying and what the pictures are.
You are quite the flirt with the ladies. This month you have started batting your eyes and grinning at every pretty girl you see. You try to spit game but they can't understand you. It's okay though Mama's not ready for that.
You are very "interested" in big sis, Roxie. You want to pull her ears so bad but can't quite figure it out. You come pretty close though and she just takes it. Anytime you are around other dogs and come home she has to sniff you all over. By the way, I don't think she's very happy with you when you come home smelling like other dogs. Keep it up and she may stop playing with you.

Mama and Daddy have really loved watching your personality grow this past month. You are such a joy to be around. You hardly ever fuss and love to give Mama sugar. We can't wait to see what you learn this month but we want to savor every second of these times. It is so hard to believe that you are already four months old. We love you to the moon and back!

Davis' fabulous mama! It's official guys, I have definitely joined the dorky mom club. I may be too young for this club. I mean my mom has these for goodness sake. Here it goes...
Seriously...is that not dorky? haha My gma gave me the boy charm with D's name on it for Christmas and I just got a necklace for it this weekend. I do love my baby boy to pieces but not sure how I feel about the necklace yet. Maybe it will grow on me...

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Our weekend away was good but chunky monkey decided he doesn't like sleeping away from his crib. We may attempt another overnight trip when he is 15 :) (We are supposed to be going to the mountains at the end of Feb..we'll see if Daddy-O still wants to keep those plans after this weekend.)

I'll have his 4 month post up later tonight, hopefully. We have his check up this afternoon (i.e. shots) and maybe this mama won't be a blubbering crying mess this time. Where did my baby go?!?

Just because...

Just because it seems like all I talk about is our sweet boy doesn't mean that I'm drifting away from this fella....

He is a wonderful husband, father and friend and even though I gripe and complain about the dishes, laundry, and trash I am so fortunate to share my life with him. We got to have lunch today (which is rare) and it was nice to just "chat". Love you hubs!

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

I'm loving that we are two work days away from the stinkin' weekend!!

I'm loving that Spring is approaching fast. I can't wait for warmer weather for babycakes to be able to wear some of these adorable clothes that I have been purchasing and then on to the beach for vacation and so on. It's just going to be such a good summer with Davis and I can't hardly wait!

I'm loving this baby boy more and more everyday...

I'm loving that we are attempting our first overnight trip as a family of 3. (Yes, Foxie Roxie is staying home with Duke and Gma.) We are headed to Uncle Paul's-wish us luck!

I'm loving some good trash tv...Real Housewives, Teen Mom and of course Jersey Shore...mostly Jersey Shore b/c that is the one show that hubs and I love to watch together :)

Lastly, I'm loving that today was my last day of physical therapy! Woo hoo I can have my lunch breaks back!

Monday Blues

I'm so sorry for being so slack lately. I feel like I just haven't had anything to talk about other than my sweet baby that I talk about 24/7. I'm needing some inspiration...
It hasn't been too rough of a day but boy oh boy am I ready to be home! I think I need a weekend from the weekend. Or maybe just a vacation?!?
Our weekend recap..
Friday night we went out to eat to one of my favorite places for Grandma and Mindy's birthdays. Grandma's was Friday (71) and Mindy's is today (32). We had a great time but I forgot my camera and so did hubs. Davis was so stinkin' cute in one of his new smocked outfits. I'll def have to get a picture of him in it before he outgrows it. I could eat him with a spoon! (I also purchased a few other smocked outfits for him last week that I can't wait to show yall...I'm pretty convinced that I have a problem....I am crazy over all things smocked, monogrammed or just plain cute for my little man...Daddy may have a heart attack before it is all said and done.)
Saturday we went to Payton's basketball game...bless her little heart she is the smallest one on the team but she tries hard.
Yesterday Ashley H. and I went and saw The Dilemma...it was pretty good. Now I can mark that one off of my list.

Now on to the real reason people read my blog...this cutie patootie!

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

So today I decided to link up with Jamie over at this kind of love for What I'm Loving Wednesday so here it goes...

I'm Loving that tomorrow and Friday are going to be "easy" days at the office since the boss-men are headed to a convention. Can I get an AMEN!

I'm Loving that b/c it's going to be a short Friday little man is coming with his mama to work. Does a Friday get any better than that?!?

I'm Loving the Dilemma and No Strings Attached are playing in theaters now (well No Strings Attached starts Friday) and I can't wait to see either of them b/c they both look awesome.

I'm Loving that I just so happen to stumble across a fabulous Essie brown polish in Wally World the other day and can't wait to test her out :)

I'm Loving anything that I can wear with boots these days...tights, leggings, jeggings (yes, I bit the bullet and wore them....hubby thinks they are silly but I loved them) of course with long shirts, sweaters or dresses only though. They are just so comfy.

I'm Loving that I've cooked the last three nights so tonight I get a "pass"! Whoop Whoop which give me more time with my little monkey.

Lastly...

I'm Loving this sweet boy...how did I get so lucky to be his Mama?!?!

His Daddy's not too bad either :)

Baby D,
My oh my where has the time gone. Your personality is showing more and more everyday. I just love to watch you. You are so alert and you take everything in. You pay close attention to everything going on around you.

• We have come to the conclusion that you have started teething. Many think that mommy is crazy by saying that at such an early age but it is the only thing that we can come up with. You are a drool monster, you have been running a low temp, had some nastiness down under (diarrhea), and you think your hands are your new chew toys. Even with all of this you have managed to remain the happiest baby in town.
• You are now eating 8oz bottles every 3 1/2-4 hours. We said we weren't going to try cereal until discussing it at your 4mth check up but we're not quite sure what we will do once you start wanting more. We bought some cereal this weekend for when the ped gives us the "go ahead".
• You are wearing some 3-6 mth and 6 mth clothes.
• You go to sleep between 8:30-9:30 and get up anywhere from 6:30-8. If you get up at 6:30 or before you drink a bottle and go back to sleep for a few more hours.
  
• You could stare at the tv for days. Daddy has been trying to get you to roll over (from back to stomach) so he'll strategically place you thinking that it will make you roll over...you've tricked him numerous times b/c you just scoot your little booty around to where you want to be so that you can see it...little booger you. I keep telling daddy that we get worse parents of the year for allowing you to watch but of course he thinks that it is helping develop your brain by seeing all of the colors and such.
• Daddy took me on our first date since we've had you and I was a bit sad. We left you with Nana and I called 3 times to check on you. Of course when we got home you were asleep and it was all I could do not to pick you up and hug and kiss you.
  
• You are still quite the "talker" and we just love to listen to you coo esp when you get real excited and get your feet going...I'm just waiting on you to fly out of the bouncy seat.
  
• You are still reaching for/grabbing things. I was cheering you on last night when you picked up your paci (hoping that you would put it in your mouth on your own like you knew what you were doing but you didn't..guess you were just teasing me).
• Lastly, Daddy put your highchair together this weekend and we let you give it a test run for when you start eating cereal...watch out world my baby is turning into a big boy!

Baby boy,
You always put a smile on my face no matter what my day has been like. I love picking you up from daycare and you grinning from ear to ear when you see me. You always seem to make everything better.
